I tend not to worry about it though.
A workshop type 120psi working compressor is very unlikely to fail by explosive decompression. Failure mode of an old tank is far more likely to be one or more small pin holes caused by rust that will bleed off under pressure.
Go along with that. Gotta admit I am pretty anal with draining the water out thru the bottom bung under a bit of pressure. Even tho (being rated as a high pressure unit- 150 PSI from memory), it spends most of its life outside undercover on about 80 PSI. Not losing sleep about it going off with a bang.
Frisky wife, happy life. Then I woke up. Oh well it was fun while it lasted.
From an early age my father taught me to wear welding gloves . "Its not to protect your hands son, its to put out the fire when u set yourself alight".

Sounds pretty "iffy" coming from a mob called METROPOLITAN ENGINEERING, CONSULTING & FORENSICS

I figured I’d just leave that one alone.

Granted, you don't watch the news and hear about exploding air compressor receivers.

But, I wasn't sure about the condition of mine AND it was an interesting exercise using a pressure washer so I really couldn't help myself!

Girl, I don't wanna know about your mild-mannered alter ego or anything like that." I mean, you tell me you're, uh, super-mega-ultra-lightning babe? That's all right with me. I'm good. I'm good.
