Thanks Doug.
Yes mine has definitely had the blue striped apron treatment previously.
I’ll check it properly before I come to making the puller. I couldn’t see any likely imperial threads in the thread charts around the same dimensions as mine, but you never know.

As a result of the help on this forum I have successfully made a puller for the hub. Attached below is a couple of photos which may be of assistance to someone else.
As a bonus the hub turned out to have static balance weights in the back which is certainly a lot safer than drilling holes in the grinding wheel as advocted in many online videos.
Anyone know of a supplier of these hub in Australia?

grinding wheels
Hello to Doug.
Surface grinder wheels over 150mm diameter may be balanced by grit blasting on the side of the wheel. It looks like a pimple. If you dress this out it may be difficult to balance the wheel. Also the wheel may have a radial painted stripe, usually black. This is the heavy side and goes to the top when mounting on the hub. Any hub to wheel clearance allows the wheel to drop a fraction and improves the balance.
Regards

Nice work on the puller Doug - and the balance weighted hub is definitely a bonus!

I just made up the hub puller for my Herless 618 that I posted the photos of earlier.
Confirming that I used a M25x1.5 thread and it worked fine.
