Fairly cheap way oil
Hi, all.
In setting up my shop I wanted to get some ISO68 way/slideway oil. Most of the stuff I ran across was expensive for small amounts (someone on fleabay is selling 1l for $50) or $200+ for 20l from the reputable companies (if you can get it). However, I did run across Staput-68 here
https://www.bolt.com.au/staput-68-20l-p-136414.html
for $75 for 20l and very reasonable, fast delivery. So I got a lifetime supply. I hadn't seen this posted, so I figure others might find this useful as well.
HTH,
.. mark.

This may help in the search for oil:
https://prolube.com.au/wp-content/up...-Reference.pdf
Due to weight + freight it may be cheaper to find a local oil supplier with an equivalent product.

Hi Guys,
Did anyone see the news one day this week, producers of oil were paying their customers to take it away !
Apparently the first time in history that oil prices have been negative. Whilst fuel prices have fallen, certainly here in the UK, you can bet that fuel suppliers are laughing all the way to the bank !
They are quick to put prices up, but not so quick to reduce them !Best Regards:
Baron J.

[QUOTE=snapatap;1966967]media hype. It was only some fairly poor quality crude from the inland areas of the usa, which means they have few options to store it, and wells are very expensive to shut down. The Brent price is a better benchmark to work off of.[/QUOTi
It was also the futures market...not the daily prices one sees on the stock market

Weird. I tried two and had the same story from both. The first one tried very hard to convince me that they didn't sell way oil until I gave them the part number off their website to look up. Mayhaps I need to try yet another store... I don't suppose you have a part number for the smaller sizes?

Rather than retail stores, look for oil distributors. These guys are the experts and hold stock but may only sell in 20lt drums. When I went to a local oil distributor and told him that 20lt was too much for me he gave me the names of a few of local companies which regularly buy the way oil from the distributor so I could go and see them to buy 5lt of them.

I picked up one of those 5L hydraulic oils you linked above as a substitute for way oil - from what I could tell from their website they only had two variants of way oil available - Waytac slideway oil (part no. A9580259, 20L) and Penrite Rockslide, also available in 20L or bigger.
I can't even find either of those two on their website, but they could find them on their internal store system. You may have more luck finding the part number of a <20L drum of the way oil, I have had no luck thus far...

A crowd called Tru blu lubricants sell a 68 way oil in 5L
They are in Bayswater VIC but would probably ship to NSW no problems.
