All the media hype by Austpost about upgrading its sorting centres, upgrading its transport units, yet they still can't work out that this is a large country vast distances between cities, towns communities.
Interstate parcles can go through numerouse sorting centres before even arriving in your area to be delivered.
From the last sorting centre by road to your door in a suburb can be 20 to 50k away. If they are just the postie they can only carry so much brop bixes or vans top them up during the day.
The old days of one postie one route means they no longer know who they deliver to. Meaning lost, misdelivered, never delivered items no matter what.
We have seen in 5 months 4 different posties.
Of course time, weather, attitude all play a hughe roll.

Delivering 'mail' is not core business for Auspost anymore. They do it because they are saddled with it as a service obligation in much the same way Telstra was saddled with providing phones into unprofitable regional and remote areas.
Parcel delivery on the other hand, is very profitable for them, and was the reason behind StarTrack. Management were cogniscent enough to recognise that it was very much an adapt or die situation as far as 'snail mail' went...
Interesting video that goes someway to demonstrating where your ebay parts come from.

I ordered some bike bits from a German seller a couple of weeks ago. Got an email saying money had been refunded and they're not posting articles out of Germany for the near future.
