Thread: Clarkson threaded slitting saw

I’ve not been able to find if there is such as thing as a slitting saw using a 3/8 threaded Clarkson style end like you see on threaded end mills?

I am wanting to set up a small slit cutter and use in my BCA jig borer which I have a collet that accepts the 3/8 threaded end mills and was hoping such a beast exists? If not I guess I am off down the path of making one.....

Don't think you will find a threaded arbor to suit your needs, why not just use a plain shank arbor that suits your collet diameter or make your own?

I've never seen a threaded mandrel like you describe ! It is very likely that you will have to make one. However 3/8" is a bit thin for a slitting blade, even for a 32 mm diameter one. My 32 mm X 0.8 mm blades have 3/8" bores (9.525 mm ) diameter.

Its not too long ago I had to make a mandrel to use one, and 1/2" diameter was only just enough.

I'm running this between centres on the lathe.

Thanks guys - looks like I better add this to my list of projects. My mill is small and largest collet is 3/8 so that will have to be the shank size.
