This came up on face book and I had to share. So much foreign language info is lost to translation.
A similay ER32 collet chuck with 25mm plain shank can be bought from Ebay for $36.00.

Making an ER style collet chuck is not that hard, in my case I bored the casting that takes the chuck out to 1inch thinking that a 1 inch straight shank collet chuck would do the job only thing was I couldn't find one with a 1inch shank they all seem to be metric 20mm or 25mm effectively forcing me to make the chuck and nut.

When I bought my Clarkson T & C grinder I was surprised to find the workhead bore was 25mm. With the mentioned chuck and some collets used for milling, all cleaned well, I can chuck some round tool steel of 3/8" and clock runout of 2 tenths to 0.5 thou. The ER collets only give good results at one end of their range but for cheapies I'm happy. When I get my Tos T & C grinder running it's time for a better chuck.

I know each ER collet has a range that it can grip however I have never used that feature and only grip the nominal size stamped on the collet, I've heard that ER collets are an expendable item and if used to grip material within their range they will eventually need to be replaced, my collets are good for .01mm, if I can work to a tolerance of .01mm I'll be very happy.
