WALDOWN something please help!!!!
Hi can any one please help me to identify this piece of Waldown machinery .
I think it's some kind of a pneumatic ratchet like a work shop rattle gun, but that's just a guess.
Any help will be highly appreciated .

Interesting looking piece of equipment.
Would it be possible to get some more details, as the where/when you acquired it, are there any other badges on it? A pic of the business end would possibly help also.
You could try contacting Waldown to hopefully find out a bit more about it, if we can't help you here.

Wldown
Hi
Thanks for the reply. got it from a garage sale , they don't know any thing about it.
Waldown in Dandenong, they did not even have a clue about this ( I' am not surprised as they were unable to identify the waldown MT 1 tapping machine even after I send photos of the thing)
I think I got a better chance here in the forums ( more experienced and knowledgeable people here in this forum )
As far as the badges go, the one on the front and another in side the machine by THOR a us pneumatic tool maker that's all

OK THANKS for that. It looks like it was made by the Thor company and rebadged under the Waldown name. Similar to what Holden and Toyota did with some models of Commodore/Lexcen.
Found Thor Pneumatics on google, and it looks like they were taken over/renamed by Texas Pneumatics

Your piece of equipment isn't shown as it was made prior to being taken over, as they show only jack hammers and the likes.

If that was the case, why would it have a THOR badge on the inside???
I never trust what a label says, have a look at a lot of other products that say made in Australia, 95% import content!!!! I know for a fact that Actil sheets had a label saying made in Australia, the labels were made here, but then sent to China to be sewn on their sheets.
This was told to me by a driver that carted stuff for them!!!!To grow old is mandatory, growing up is optional.

Just guessing, but could be a special torque unit for assembly of cylinder heads or valvetrains etc?

Yes my guess is some what closer to that, cause it's got two 3/4 drive adaptors at the end of the quill .

Now that's an interesting piece of kit. Wouldn't be surprised if it was a custom solution for a (probably large) business or type of business as part of an assembly line.

That helps!
In the early 60s Thor was known for it's setups involving multiple spindles, including impact wrench type ones which I'm guessing is what this Waldown is utilising. They also had spindles for studsetting, screwdriving and drilling... though I doubt Waldown needed much help with the latter!
