This may or not help. The Grizzly G4003G is apparently the equivalent lathe. If you go to this weblink https://www.grizzly.com/products/Gri...h-Stand/G4003G and then go to Documents and download the Manual and go to page 81 of the manual the wiring starts there.

cq6230
Thank you steran50 for your reply. My lathe is a 1998 year make and is totally different to the Grizzly G4003g. Any other suggestions would be helpful.
Thanks Govy

Sorry Govy that I wasn't much help. I have a Hafco AL960B but mine only has the power coming into the motor fwd/rev switch and then straight to the motor so the wiring on that probably wouldn't help either. I'm suprised someone else hasn't responded as their must be plenty of CQ6230 owners on here. Perhaps try asking in the 'Electricals' section and maybe post some pictures.

Whats a spindle switch? Is that the interlock on the chuck safety cover? Or the forward/reverse lever on the aprin? Or is there some switch on the spindle itself?
I put some photos of the contactors driving the motor back here. https://metalworkforums.com/f65/t202...p-al336/page-2 just in case its anything to do with that.
I'm not certain your lathe is the same as an al336 but they look similar when I checked on google.

Post up a picture of your lathe and the switch.
The cq6230 is a very generic model produced and reproduced by many. If someone on here has the same model they might dig further for you.

... you can download it from here: https://www.manualslib.com/manual/53...30a-2-910.html
Has 69 pages seemingly with some exploded diagrams.

This pdf colour-coded wiring diagram I made back in 2006 from my 2001 model of the CQ6230A (made by Shaoxing Tongli Tool Co. and imported by Hafco), might help you. Attached below.
Actually the size of the diagram is made just right to print out and stick inside the cover of the control box.
Also refer to the instruction book (with manufacturer's wiring diagrams) for the Hafco CQ6230A uploaded here: https://archive.org/details/CQ6230AManualLast edited by Gunnaduit; 22nd Mar 2020 at 08:43 AM. Reason: Updated wiring diagram
