FWIW, I bought some Moore and Wright stuff from a UK supplier. I have to admit I was happy to be buying some quality stuff and looked forward to their arrival.
As it happens, when they arrived they were just so utterly crap that a few simple photos proved it and I got my money back without argument. I didn't have to send them back.
I was pretty disappointed to say the least. That was the last modern-era M&R stuff I bought.

I wonder if you got a counterfeit? I had a look at the genuine ones and they have the correct degrees symbol - here's an image. I *did not* check the angles. Did you buy them from a reputable tool seller?

I purchased 10 of these about 15 years ago through the Australian Agent for M&W, they are not counterfeit, just made at a time when companies were desperately trying to cut costs. They were for use in a schools machine shop.

It looks ok. what did it cost you? Besides the decals does it appear well made? You should see what the cheap ones look like.

Flipped?
Seems to me that there may be TWO problems here.
* The first is the accuracy of the angles. Without access to the hardware I cannot comment on that. Jiggle the line fitting and the results might be a bit better.
* But the labeling - aha! It looks as though the unit in the package may have been flipped over before the electro-engraving was done. Compare it with the subsequent good one.

It's a gauge, not a cutting tool.

M&W Pick up
SP-Flip
Picked these up a few days ago. Deceased owner was a tool maker. One of the calipers has his name on it with 41 after it (year). Yes, those 2 large calipers are 16 inch.

I'm thrilled with them, have added them to my collection of gear, ready for when I can use them., which might be never but at least I'll have them. Slowly getting a nice collection of measuring tools.
I think it's Andre that says something like, better to have the tools and not need them, rather than needing tools and not have them!!
