25piece metric under $50, Frost manufactured by Sutton in China

You broke the drill last night through careless handling, not through use, with more care and diligence that will cease to be an issue.

Maybe before you buy those Frost bits, take a read of this thread. Lots of negatives about them in there

Seems like those Sutton Frost bits are really poorly made, they say the Sutton Vipers are aggressive which i dont mind one bit, they mention some UK brands but i really dont want to wait weeks for shipping, Bordo got a few mentions i think that was the UK brand...

Seems it does pay to play with quality $150 set is out of my reach for a fee more weeks i can afford a under $100 set

There has been no mention for Milwaukee, Bosch, Makita, Dewalt how come?

I seen P+N get a mention but from my search it comes up as a Sutton brand

Yes I commented they were made in China and wouldn’t buy them personally, but figured I would link them anyway as your purchase has price constraints.
Makita, Bosch, Dewalt etc all make their Bits in Asia

If you want the decent bits but have budget constraints why not buy individually over a period of time. Pick up two or three each pay packet until your index is full. I can send you an empty metric index if you decide to do that.

I wouldn't buy them individually, would end up costing too much.

Check out eBay, facebook market place, gum tree, local markets and second hand stores, something will come up.

Depending on the accuracy of the holes you need to drill you could even pickup good quality imperial sets even cheaper second hand.

    Hi Guys,

If you want cheap good quality tin box drill sets, you can't go far wrong with Aldi's German made ones ! I've bought a couple of sets of these 1 to 10 mm in 0.5 mm increments and I'm quite happy with them. The latest ones are in plastic rotary selection tubs, whilst similar in price, they are not German made, but are Chinese ones. They are definitely not as good ! But for £7.00 UK for a set, are hard to beat.

These are the good ones. I did have a picture of the branding stamped into the shank of the drills, but I cannot find it at the moment.
    Best Regards:
    Baron J.

I bought a set of these https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/19x-P-N-...efb0%7Ciid%3A1 i have bought from this guy about 5 times drill bits, taps etc.. seems he has a ton of tools u hear him rummaging thru chests or bucket fulls of tools out the back of his house, products are always rusty or dirty but they work

$20 for the set leaves me some cash to possibly buy a sharpener or i can self sharpen or try to

I bought this set about a year ago form the place I get my nuts and bolts. I cannot remember what I paid for them but quick scan of the net shows $25 to $50. I would not have paid $50 or I would have bought Suttons. I just wanted a separate set I could keep in the room where I play with my audio stuff. Aluminium an light steel work is all they have ever done. I am not sure where they are made, probably China but have lasted will.
How they would go in the real world I don`t know.

Charles does the auctions from the look of his stock, I’ve bought quite a few milling cutters from him recently. He’s quite reasonable as an eBay seller, has realistic expectations of what the tooling he is selling is worth.

I own 3 sets of Alpha drill bits -1 to 13mm . When I purchased the first set I asked about COO and was told they are made in Europe.

Mine are 135 degree split point. They are individually replaceable and the available as individual pack, jobber packs, complete sets and long series. The local Global fasteners shop carries them. They are high quality and excellent value for money.I can't remember exactly what I paid but it was a darn sight better than the Sutton stuff.

If you are curious to why 3 sets- one for the drill press ,one for lathe and one for backup.

Maybe have a look at the Smith and Arrow drill sets.
I bought the 1/2 inch cobalt set a couple of years ago and I think they are great.
They also have HSS sets listed and the price seems very good.
