    Default Liang Dei Lathes.

Anyone used or have one? Taiwanese and a first glance seem pretty good, although I have not seen one in person. Modern Tools in Melbourne have them. The LD-1340GHE is very nice.

If the Taiwanese woodwork machine market is anything to go by, it's probably the same machine with half a dozen different brands slapping their badge on it. If you do an image search for "1340 lathe" you'll see a whole bunch that may as well be clones with different bases and a paint job

I contacted Modern Tools recently about these lathes. One thing I discovered is the "1340" is the size of the lathe in inches.
13" is the swing, and 40" is the distance between centres. These lathes are metric but they have kept this naming convention.
