Shaper work 2. The tool holder

Here are the pics of 2 tool holders. Pic 2 is of the smaller unit. The cap has a slotted hole so it can adjust to the tool bit size. A ramp on one side and square cut groove on other side to capture tool bit. I run it backwards in the shaper to reduce chatter. That puts the tool behind the centre of pull. I have crashed the bit into a job and stalled the shaper. By accident. No damage to bit or holder. It's an 18" shaper. Only problem so far is in deep slots. The fat holder head makes it hard to get low in the slot. I'm buying some bigger bits next order.

Thanks for the detail Steamloco.
Does the clamp piece rotate in relation to the main holder body - ie can you set the tool bit on an angle to make it a left/right tool or does it need to be in line with the body?
