Thomas 4 x 4 tyre pump
Hi Gang,
I have this Thomas pump which is need of some work. I have stripped it down and am replacing the bearings. One was marked as 6102Z which I ordered from RS components. didn't think to check the dimensions. So it seems 6102Z is a 12mm ID I need 8mm ID.? Bearing I need is is 32x10x8. Also the piston seal is a plastic type cup, should I just give it a light smear of grease.
Cheers
Bruce

I think there have been a few mix ups here
A 6201 is OD32, ID12 and 10 high. I can't find a SKF listing for a 6102 Z or a 610 2Z (the Z meaning grease shields from memory)
I also tried selecting a bearing of OD32, ID8 and 10 high and that came up empty as well.
If you really need 32x10x8 then you may have to make up a sleeve for the bearing you have been given.

HI Bruce, Guys,
Like Michael, I have been unable to fine anything for that bearing number ! I do recall that quite some time ago there was a range of bearing numbers that was discontinued. I would have a wonder round to my local bearing supplier and ask them to help find the actual bearing that you want from the sizes. They will have cross reference guides that they use that are not generally made public.Best Regards:

Boy Now I think I might be dyslectic.
I just checked the number on the shield and it is 6201z, Hoover NSK. This pump unit is made in the USA. The bearing is definitely 32 OD x10 high x ID8 as measured.

Yep,
And 6201 is on the shield but the ID is 8mm with no sleeve, could it be an imperial size?20191113_211123.jpg20191113_211107.jpg

Are you sure it is 8mm I/D Bruce, it could be a 6201 metric bearing with an imperial bore ie 5/16". What did you use to measure the bore?

Hi Lex,
The shaft mic's as 8mm, can you get off the shelf 6201 metric bearing with an imperial bore of 5/16.

I'm not sure about 5/16" Bruce, but I do know that you can get 1/2" and possibly other imperial sizes.
