Brass blocks need help to find
Hello All, After reading one of Eskimo's posts re overcrank engine I was inspired to have a go at constructing one after viewing the plans. Materials are mostly relatively easily obtainable brass, aluminium and mild steel sections. The bit I cant find is a brass block measuring 50 x 50 x 70 mm which forms the main body of engine and a piece of flat bar that is 70 x 50 x 10 which is machined for the ports to feed & exhaust the 2 cylinders.
Can any body point me in the right direction or provide a link to a supplier. A surf around google didn't find a seller for this size section.
I'm a bit loathe to start construction until I am sure I can get all the materials. Thought about substituting materials but there are 2 cylinders that are silver soldered to this main body.

I live just south of Newcastle NSW if there may be a supplier in that area or sydney. Thank you

Some of the larger materials sometimes have to be whittled from round bar stock...

George whites prices are okay, and they have a good selection of rounds, square stock I'm not so sure.

Rang Edcon steel in Sydney today. They have the brass in stock and will cut me a 70mm length. As expected a bit pricey but at around $40 for 50mm square material, I reckon its both reasonable and affordable. Ill pick up a block next week.
Thanks guys for all your ideas, assistance tips and suggestions, this forum is outstanding. Booked in to specsavers next week mardtrp, thanks for the reminder Cheers

Edcon aren't cheap but it's the convenience of being able to buy just about any material & have it cut to your required sizes.
