    Default Bench top metal planer

    I acquired this today,

Not sure if I will keep it or pass it on. Anyone any ideas on why it was constructed? It is only about 600mm long.

I thought you said the other day that you had tooo many projects???
You've got your work cut out fixing that one.
Sorry can't help with the why, when and how, looks a nice little machine though.
Where did you pick that up from??

Because they could? Even more exclusive than the shaper club.

Looks like they have done a good job of it even though it looks a bit light.

Yea nice. I don't think I really need one BUT I think I want one!!

Surely planers come in smaller sizes just the same as shapers, mills, lathes etc.

Girl, I don't wanna know about your mild-mannered alter ego or anything like that." I mean, you tell me you're, uh, super-mega-ultra-lightning babe? That's all right with me. I'm good. I'm good.

I think it would not take long at all to clean up. Its mainly dirty not too rusty. But I have both a mill and a shaper with bigger work envelopes. I was wondering if it was an apprentice piece. It came from the collection of someone who definitely had a close connection to the Hercus factory because the other lots I saw last month from the same estate had a lot of new Hercus parts including unused machine name plates.

Probably a model maker's planer. Several makes of these used to be advertised in old model makers' magazines. Apologies for the black background - couldn't get rid of it.
