    Default Grinding wheels for sharpening

    Hi folks,

Setting myself up to sharpen metal turning HSS tools and have a question. I'm a fan of CBN wheels from woodturning experience.

Are there any downsides to CBN wheels for sharpening metal turning tools, aside from maybe the lowest grit available being 80?

    Cheers,

    Danny

Thats what I sue and there are no probs as long as you restrict yourself to HSS.

    Thanks Bob!

Yeah, will touch up any carbide I acquire on diamond - my only tooling so far is HSS so that’s a future problem anyway...
