2x Lathes and 2x milling machine value?
Hi,
I have a friend whom may be selling the following machines that are owned by an ex toolmaker.
Lathe 1, McMillan ML24
Lathe 2 Mars Junior
Mill 1 CVA Jigs Moulds and tools ltd number 79 CVA Toolroom Milling Machine
Mill 2 Prvomajska ALG100 Prvomajska ALG-100 & Macmon M100 Millers
They have been sitting unused for some time but all come with a few accessories, though the shed is a bit cluttered and it is difficult to confirm which parts belong to what. The machines seem to be in reasonable condition.
Any guide on price range would be most appreciated.
Cheers

Hi and welcome to the MetalWork Forum.
Someone will soon respond to your enquiry to advise about pricing of your machinery.
If you wish to advertise it must be advertised in the
METALWORK - Machinery, Equipment, MARKET not in this General sub forum.
Go to the FORUM box with down arrow at the top LH side of the page and click the down arrow and then click Forum home.
From there scroll down the page to the METALWORK - Machinery, Equipment, MARKET.
Please make sure to read the market posting rules at the beginning of the page.
Thanks
Grahame

The McMillan is a basic Taiwanese lathe (9x20?). I sold one several years back for around $1000.
A couple of members here have CVA milling machines and could probably tell you what they paid for them.
The Prvomajska is interesting. By itself it's just another small mill and you are competing with mills of the same capacity sold by H&F, so your price is constrained by the competition. However, if it has some to all of the accessories that these mills were featured with, it could push the price up significantly.

I think we need a few more photos if you could. The Macmillan and mars probably aren't worth all that much but the mills could be depending on accessories and condition.

Thanks to all for your replies. I don’t have any more photos unfortunately and I live too far away from the machines to get more. I know that there are accessories for the Prvomajska but I don’t know the details. I will pass on your advise to the owners family so that they have some idea of the value.
Kind regards to all.

I believe the Mcmillan is more than likely a 12x24 belt drive lathe almost exactly like a Lam/Honden/etc 12x24, I see them pop up from time to time on Gumtree advertised for anything from $900 up to $2500 - those that are offered for around $1000 are usually go within a day or two, the higher priced ones are hardly ever on there for longer than 7 -10 days
