Devon Ipswich Lathe
Hi I have another metal lathe that was given to me by my uncle.
He acquired it through purchasing cars and tools out of an old mans shed.
I cant find any information on the brand at all.
Has anyone got any information about them?
Devon Ipswich QLD is cast into it.
Dont remember if there were any other markings.
Ill take some photos this weekend maybe for reference.
Thanks
Daniel

Looks like a copy of a Drummond lathe. Pretty simple little thing. That crack in the back headstock bearing is bad news.

I have one like it, although soneone has chiselled off the maker and town (town still legible though).
Only thing is the head stock is a bit different, more beefy and uses compression cone bearings instead of I assume babbit like in yours.

I've been chatting with Matt most of the evening, small world. And mines a bit different to his two, no grub screws holding the backgearing bushings inplace on mine (no holes for them even)...
Cheers.
