    Default Steel colour codes

I have some lengths of stainless bar that are colour coded on one end - yellow/white/yellow and green/yellow I did an online search for a chart showing the grade according to the colour code - a number came up in the search and I screen captured 2 charts. Looking at the charts it is obvious they do not agree, from this I can only assume that (1) each manufacturer has their own chart and (2) unless you know the manufacturer you can't trust the chart.

Have any other forum members come across this ?

Yes, water pipe is the only colour code that seems to be fairly uniformly colour coded.
Gold, the colour of choice for the discerning person.

Yep, we have 3 different charts at work for different suppliers.
