OT. No more competition??
After reading the local info on this site, I usually look at Homeshopmachinist. I now get this:
"This site has been blocked by the network administrator."Any ideas why??

Nelson is a very strange person to say the least with that forum. I remember his rules where way out there even checking your IP address, don't take it personally, come here or on of the many other great forums.

It's not the Hobby Machinist (Ex Nelson site) which is blocked.
The blocked site is homeshopmachinist (The Home Shop Machinist & Machinist's Workshop Magazine's BBS)
It is a pity that whoever is blocking it did not include more information in their notice.
It worked for me on Saturday - blocked Sunday.
I'm with TPG, wonder if it is just one ISP blocking?

It's definitely not an ISP thing, it's something serverside.

Actually Dave, you might be right, I fired up a VPN (so my internet traffic is essentially coming from another country) and the site loads fine, I think its fallen victim to some kind of ISP firewall thing. Bummer.

If you ping the site by name, it gets resolved to an IP address> 12.150.35.100
I started to type that in my URL bar and got to 12.150 which triggered the firewall notice.
Could download the Tor browser.......

I accessed HSM with a proxy server OK otherwise it is blocked. There is a thread there with a chap from Portugal getting the same message.
It has been suggested it is an issue with the HSM sites hosts settings. I am not logging in with a proxy server so can not post there that others have the problem as well.Gold, the colour of choice for the discerning person.
