The Chinese Machine tool industry - the State-sanctioned view
This is hard reading, I'm afraid. It is a Google translation of the Chinese Government's history of the Chinese Machine too industry. The document is a State publication and therefore contains quite a bit of propaganda. However, it gives an interesting insider view which I found enlightening and gives some historical background of where they came from and what they have actually achieved - and who (is acknowledged to have) helped them along the way. I've gone over it a bit to make it slightly easier to follow, but clearly the structure and expression remains very foreign and odd to us.
See if you learn something about their history - in the context of what interests us.....Cheers, Joe

Very interesting read. I recognize a couple of Company names from my dealings with Chinese tooling.
I was expecting some emphasis on light lathes as well, but not included.
Thanks for posting.

Thanks for putting it here Joe. A very interesting read, amazing how they changed names on the businesses by removing or adding a word.

I have a machinist level made in China which was advertised as being a precision instrument, are you saying it's not??? I have read that the Chinese govt gives out plans of all sorts of items to Chinese factories to help them get a hold on the marketplace. That would make sense as many items you see advertised on ebay, aliexpress, Banggood, Made-In-China and so on advertise items from many different manufactures which appear identical. Electronic component and lathes are a very good example. I have bought several digital voltmeters with differing brand names but they are identical and many lathes on sites such as Made-In-China also offer identical machines made in different factories.

You've got to remember that it's a Communist country and everything is state controlled, to a master plan.
That's why you will see near identical machines produced by different factories. All proven designs.
China even goes to the level of govt data bases, that identify and log trading partners for future reference by other companies. How do I know ? I'm on one.
You can't get more aggressive or controlled marketing than China. That's partly why they have taken over the world market for many products. The worst that can happen is you will fail.
But at least you tried.
