This is quite an old thread which has been resuscitated, but I don't recall seeing that very nice Fehlmann drill press Bob, most likely the best I have seen. Most of the Swiss style drill presses I see on eBay or Gumtree are more the swiss cheese style like this one.
I should say that the first poor idiot that puts a hole in the table of the Fehlmann will probably need to have his will made out and all his affairs settled first, but as to why such damage is tolerated in many workplaces is anyones guess. I am not saying that the guilty need firing, but perhaps some training and management making sure that the right tools to do the job are there and ready to be used. For a drill press machinists parallels would not normally be required, even lengths of keysteel would often be overkill. A range of short lengths of flat bar would serve well enough, and competent use of the depth stop together with some wooden blocks for larger workpieces would prevent most of this sort of carnage.

I had forgotten about that exquisite Picomax clip Rob. It was worth watching again. Thank you.
Forum member TomW over here acquired an Arboga drill the table of which makes the one in your post look pristine. Very little of its original flat surface remains. The table on my Waldown 3M looked similar to that in your photo when I purchased it. I bought a new table.
Sadly, abuse and expedience are often partners.
Bob.

It must be a thing with Arboga drill tables in WA.
This is the one that came with my 825.

Looks like the/a previous owner was setting it up for flood coolant of biblical proportions.
Nice looking replacement you have now.
