    Default AXA QCTP holders

Has anyone recently bought any standard AXA QCTP tool holders who can recommend a seller? I need five of the 250-101 type like this:

Up to 12'' AXA Quick Change Turning & Facing CNC Lathe Tool Post Holder 250-101 | eBay

The link above is the best price I can find on eBay. I'm hoping to wangle a better price for the five holders, but no luck so far. I've looked for a lower tool price and higher postage with the hope of combining the postage, but none of the sellers I have seen will combine postage.

    Any leads?

    Chris

CDCO has them for $US11.00 plus shipping, that's where I get mine, as well as other tooling.

Thanks Fred. Price is good. I've sent them an email requesting a shipping quote.

There are a few local sellers of such items now who do not seem to apply the Australia tax.

Thanks Ray. It's odd my search didn't find that seller. I can collect them at my local Woolies which makes them a bargain.
I assume the quality of these things is pretty consistent? They all look like they come out of the same factory. The ones I have are all very good. Has anyone ever come across a bad one?

Where is Ray? I have not seen him for quite awhile.

Most economical way to buy holders from CDCO is to get them to supply however many holders will fit into a USPS 20lb flat rate box. Yes, you will end up with way more than the 5 holders you are looking for, but they have a very long shelf life. 14 BXA holders fit into one of those boxes.

Thanks Bob. (I assume your name is Bob?) 14 is way more than I need. I'll have a look at what else I might be tempted to buy.

Sorry RC, I must have confused you with my dad.

Some years back I bought extra tool holders for my AXA, but they didn't quite fit.
Being from a different manufacturer, the radii at the inner dovetail angle was greater and interfered with the smaller outer angle of the toolpost.
I think they were from CDCO.
Things could have changed since then, but you might want to check.

Thanks Jordan. I have an Aloris QCTP, so I'll confirm whichever holders I buy will fit.

Those $15 holders are a right bargain. I'd rather have too many holders than spend time swapping them. Time spent swapping tools out of holders is time lost.

The postage pushes the price up considerably. I just ordered 5 of them and it came to $21 each. The seller assures me they come from the same factory as the Phase II ones. I'll let y'all know what they are like.

My tool holders arrived today. They seem to be identical to the ones I bought from the USA a few years ago. Two of the five are quite a snug fit on my QCTP, but still slip on with no problem. They came covered in that foul smelling brown crap the Chinese cover everything with. I washed it off with kero and there was quite a bit of metal filings in the container afterwards. I would happily buy more from him, but next time I would try to screw him down on postage. $30 postage for five holders from Melbourne is a bit steep.

I never received a postage quote from CDCO.

Just noticed quite the bargain on Banggood. The 250-101 AXA sized QCTP holders are apparently stocked in an AU warehouse now, and are currently selling $17.72 AUD, posted within Australia via AusPost. You just have to select the AU warehouse option and they drop in price from $23.80.

I'd say this is about the cheapest I've seen them. Just ordered one to test the waters.

That's great. Let us know how it goes. I haven't been game to try banggood yet after a bad experience with Alibaba.
