    Hi Dale,

Do you know if there any relationship with Dawn Australia?

I seem to recall someone talking about Dawn getting their vise castings done in India.

No idea Ray. But I'm pretty sure you are correct about Dawn Aust getting some of their castings done OS

There's another video of a plano-miller too. Baby machine, hydraulic driven with separate electric motors for the cross feed and bridge rise/fall. Looks like a 40 taper head.

Still a rack drive though and looks like a plain rack, not helical, so not the best for controlling backlash.

I keep thinking about my spare Redman planer that's missing its drive & reversing mechanism. Add a ball screw to drive the table and one of my spare B/port J heads and presto, big bed milling machine.

Their Indian website says they started in 1960.

They seem to specialize in large heavy duty engineering machines. They website mentioned that they can do CI castings for customers.

No specific mention was made of Dawn Australia.

Dawn is a pretty common word.

Some UK businesses used to have pretty common words for names.

Like snail hand tools and pidgeon wood auger bits.
Gold, the colour of choice for the discerning person.

    No argument on that RC.

But if you look at the logo it is the same type in the box. So the same logo, which is pretty basic and unimaginative so possible that it isn't an intentional copy but just the same.
