Default Milling Machine broken switch replacement where to buy ?

Both my CW and CCW are at end of life. In this picture the switch removed from the panel is broken. Where would one buy an identical switch or find something suitable?
    Thanks,

Would RS be a start? https://au.rs-online.com

    Hi Topari,

Those look like common industrial panel switches. I doubt RS will have them. I would try and find someone locally that makes control panels. Or maybe salvage from a scrapyard.
Tecalemit, Honywell, ABB and others make them, but they are not cheap by any means.

Try Quador in Nunnawading, they have an extensive range of switch gear in stock, staff are helpful and prices are reasonable for good quality gear.

Any chance you are thinking of Jaycar instead of RS? RS has 275 Schnieder push button industrial switches alone Push Buttons - online | RS Components I have been using RS for 30 years and it was very expensive back then but it's much more reasonable now. You don't need to be a business anymore either. I recently needed a 2W fusable resistor and I ordered a packet of 10 for 99c including delivery. It came by courier the next day and I had to sign for it. All for 99c, free postage!

You need to ask/look for an illuminated, momentary push button with 2x NO contacts.
    Looks like a 24V lamp.
Actually you only need 1x NO contact. The other one isn't wired up.
    Built: a Bench,a Desk,an Archery Display,

Those were the droids I was looking for.

I did a search of RS Components UK without finding anything suitable for your application, but I will recheck. I've heard of Jaycar, but know little about them. I agree with your comments about RS. The free delivery service for in stock items is great.

I 've just done a search a RS using "Push Buttons" and got a similar page to you. Obviously my search skills are not as good as yours. I looked for "Modular push switches" without finding them. Sorry

Get the part numbers off the switches, ring up RS tech support, and ask.
For electronics they are as good as eBay, but PROFESSIONAL.
Yes, I have an account, and yes, I use it.

    Cheers

Some better photos. My little happy snappy seems to struggle under dim conditions.

If you go to electrical wholesalers like NHP, Lawrence & Hanson or Rexcel with your old switches, they will be able to assist you. Be prepared for some eye watering prices though, I saw them range from $40 to around $95, after a quick glance over a 2011 catalogue, although there may also be some cheaper ones too. Features such as switch illumination, and guarding (from accidental operation) seem to knock the price up, as can custom labelling, but that shouldn't be such an issue in your case as the panel has the labels already. Good luck

Its annoying that I recently disposed of several dozen brand new, boxed modular switches because no one wanted them.

My missus complains when I don't want to throw anything away...

Yeah, that IS a problem. RS are not quite as expensive, but the prices are still high.

I had to replace the Emergency Stop button on my CNC some time ago. Ouch, those prices. So I took a wander around eBay. To my surprise, I found a LOT of copies of the $50 units there, from China and HK, for around or under $5. So I bought a couple and pulled one apart.

Yes, it's a copy of a good Euro one. But it seemed to be a good copy. 380 VAC 10 A rating. Some of the eBay vendors seemed to have a lot of industrial-class switch gear. In fact, I was left wondering whether a lot of the units sold locally for high prices had not come from the same factories. It happens that way these days - a lot.

So I installed one. A year later, it is still functioning just fine. I am happy with it.

The ones I can recommend are the ones with a sort of switching block behind the panel-mounted button part. The yellow switching block has clear sides so you can see the switch contacts inside. Plenty of vendors of that sort. Some of the other types may also work fine, but i haven't tested them.

    Cheers
    Roger
