Thread: Buying Steel Hex Stock in Perth

Where can I buy metric hex steel bar in the Perth area? I am looking for sizes 10mm, 12mm, 14mm and 17mm. My purpose is the occasional manufacture of parts for my "classic era" motorcycles. As such, I only want (say) 1-2 metre lengths of each size, and not the 6 metre lengths that are sometimes supplied. I imagine that bright mild steel is what I need, although machinable stainless might be useful at times. I would appreciate any advice/comments.

I would seek out the Steel store for Bohler Uddeholm. The steelstore is in Belmont. Their Manager is Paul. I'll pm you with his details after work this evening.

I'll second that.

They have a $50 minimum purchase but it sounds like you'll be wanting to purchase more than that anyway.
I think you will struggle with 17mm
