    Default Postage from USA

I received a package from the US today (Feb 4th). It was post dated Chicago Jan 28th.

What has happened to both postal services, 6 actual days for delivery, mind you it was sent priority mail express.

The sender was guaranteed delivery by Feb 5th. His answer was "supposedly".

I don't know what is the biggest hit to the wallet; the express non standard sized postage, vintage Hardinge parts or the exchange rate. Ouch.

I just priced a electromagnetic chuck controller postage from the US... US$140 for postage alone.

Although the $ works better for me when it is low. (export orientated industry) The high dollar really hurt.

RC, I felt the pain also. US$202.45 and was express post. Was extremely well packed in a non standard size carton. But that is the price you pay for a 1940's era Hardinge tailstock. They are not exactly lying around everywhere. Actually this is the only one that I found for sale. I will live with the 1MT as the unit is like new.
