VDGB9241.jpg And then the door went in. Ended up slightly short (about 200mm) of corrugated iron but have ordered another piece so will fix it then.
Getting close

Some of the machines in the shed. Partially unwrapped but not cleaned and still to be moved to their final positions.

Lots of little jobs left now.
IMG_2446.jpg Simple locking mechanism for main door. Guides for the doors have also been cemented in
IMG_2444.jpg Making and painting the sliding internal door that will go in the walkway between the two sheds.
Still have some flashing to do,downpipes and will cement something under the main door but I'm sure some other things but can almost see the finish line now
This weekend off to Sydney to collect a Thiel 132 conturex shaper (thanks Andre). Obsolete but very cool !!
Pictures later

So the shed build continues between work and family duties.
The external shed is basically finished.
Had to put a tank in. Ended up choosing a steel liner tank 110,000 L in size. Now all plumbed in and collecting water!
Next was insulating the walls of the shed. Will take about 650 panels to finish. Each has to be cleaned, painted and cut to size. A very slow and arduous job but hopefully worth it in the end.
IMG_2466.jpg Here a picture of the first ones going in. As of today only have about 75 left to go.
Have cut and baled hay for the first time in 3 years so have to clean out the hay shed of some of the stored machines.
IMG_2451.jpg Brown and sharpe gear automatic gear cutting machine
IMG_2478.jpg IMG_2480.jpg HLV-H lathe (does anyone know why it always puts photos on the side?). This is a metric version. Can talk more about it later.
Really looking forward to getting everything in the shed and working.
Cheers

Hello Mark,
You need to edit your pictures and re-save them !
The problem is the "EXIF" data that is stored with your picture, editing and saving will/should remove it, then the server at the forum cannot try to put the picture the same way up as the camera when the picture was taken.Best Regards:
Baron J.

Can't believe another 5 months has passed. Seeing as we are inside due to all the rain thought it was time for an update. Can do it in between emptying mice out of the traps. The shed is basically finished. Had to dig a trench as the electricity people insisted on undergound power. Probably a good idea in the long run. So now have power inside the shed and lights are up. Still have to decide on position of all the power points but that can wait till all the machines are in place. That remains a moving target as machines seem to grow when you move them in so the plan in my head is constantly being adjusted. Slowly moving machines from the various storage sheds to the new shed. This is a slow an difficult job sometimes and is taking much longer than I thought. Then position the machine and unwrap it then a basic clean before moving onto the next machine. A few years in open sheds has taken a toll on some of them. Bit of rust here and there but dust seems to invade every pore despite being well wrapped. The dust storms of a few years ago really got into things.
Will post some pictures shortly

Looking even better now Mark. I hope that the weather treats you well, and that you don't end up with way too much of a good thing.IMG_2536- Mark Grey right side up.jpg

Power for machines where you need it.
Without sitting here and looking thru a bunch of fotos of your shop.
Seen a bakery that run a power lead on a catenary wire (similar i guess to power being run to overhead crane that doesn't run bus bars).
Not sure how you would make this work with an overhead crane traversing the shed, but i guess its an idea. If you happened to make use of this and of course set it up - fotos of course!!!!! Then I can copy it when I setup something similar in my shop ) Like most things on the "to do" list around here, its just an idea that hasn't yet made it into practice.
without a crane to contend with - have a similar issue here.Frisky wife, happy life. Then I woke up. Oh well it was fun while it lasted. From an early age my father taught me to wear welding gloves . "Its not to protect your hands son, its to put out the fire when u set yourself alight".

Creating a moving pendant via a catenary puts the power where you need it, even if its just along a wall. Hmm movable power point.
Anyhoo great shed, but yeah as someone has already mentioned, they always end up being too small!!Frisky wife, happy life. Then I woke up. I'm in a 7.1x3.6 and have bought at least 28 wall and ceiling power points so far to set it up, 10A, 15A and 15A industrial outlets with a 16mm cable protect by a 60A breaker.
My plan is to have power points everywhere even if it don't need them at the moment for future rearrangements as it's already been rearranged half dozen times in 3 years.

Of course that doesn't help Mark with those "sub station stopper" (kidding) machines he has!
I'll leave it there, as am moving the discussion away from markgray's thread.Frisky wife, happy life. Then I woke up.
