    Default Flat head socket screws

Wasn't sure where to pose this question. Moderators please move if inappropriate here.

I'm after some flat head socket screws, gold colour with the matching nut.

I've found this example but would like to be able to source locally.

Size around M6x40, approx 20 off.

Cornall's in Heidelberg Heights used to carry these, but they have been bought out by Artia and the parent company doesn't seem to list them.

    edit,

Daughter now wants silver colour, you know what women are like!

Ken, check out bunnings or cabinet maker suppliers, they are called connector bolts.

You're after demon bolts. Try Elraco available in gold or silver.

I bought a stack of these to use with cross dowels. My desk is held together with them as is my (still in construction) router table.

    Default Solid gold?

OMG, the screws sold by Elraco must be solid gold, and no mention of tubular nuts.

The nuts are listed at the bottom of that page.
I don't think that price is per screw but per packet (of 20?)
Bunnings also sell the bolts at $3.60 for four.

Gentlemen, thanks for all your ideas, and here's me thinking the screws were $3+ each.

    Default Flat head socket screws

Bombed out at Bunnies, they only have furniture screws 60mm long and no tubular nuts even though they are shown on the back of the packet.

I have to go through a cabint door 18mm thick plus 3 layers of 3mm leather. These screws are to attach some hand made leather strap handles to cupboard doors, see image

Guess I'll have to keep hunting.

IKEA also stock these Ken. In fact at my local store they keep them in buckets near the purchase counters. Cheers, Mark

    Default IKEA no screws

I visited IKEA today and could only find flat head furniture screws 60mm long with the thread stopping about 25mm from the head.

I could not find the mating nuts

    This shouldn't be so difficult.

Default No wonder things are so bad

Went through the process of ordering connector bolts from Elraco until at checkout, up popped the postage, $18, what?

Went through another mob, had exactly what I wanted, all was fine until they mentioned I had to buy a box of 100, same with the nuts.

If I can buy locally I will, but in vain turned to eBay and got exactly what I wanted from China for around $13, free delivery.

So much for business in Australia.

    Ken,

The German hardware giant Hafele supply the fixings you are after to the local cabinetmaking profession. Any cabinetmaker should be able to order them for you. Hafele do sell to the public but the prices will be higher.
You may be able to order them yourself at the Hafele Design Centre located at 75 Flinders Lane ( ph. 9212 2000 ) if you run out of luck finding a cabinetmaker.

Here is a link to their relevant catalogue page - https://easylink.hafele.com/is-bin/i...Clipboard=true

    Bob.
