Default Free To A Good Home - Two Moore and Wright Micrometer Heads 0-1 inch

    Free.

I probably wont use these, and someone else on our forum might.
Two Moore and Wright Micrometer Heads 0-1 inch opening, one 0.001, one 0.0001 inch.
One perfect, one needs a touch of TLC.
Previously used in ground aviation navigational equipment (CVOR) 1968ca.

Give-away to someone on this WWF forum with say twenty or more previous posts, and can state a use for them on this thread.

Collectors with no intended use, apply after one month please.

I will split if two guys only want one each.
The best one is the 0.001 head.

    First to reply gets them,
    mike

Would love them for a precision router fence

Only joking; I'd love them but I'd feel bad if someone who could use them to their maximum potential lost out.

Hey, put me down as the first in line as a collector then!

If I could see more of the ferules I'd be more able to hazard a guess. Are they hollow then, and if so what sort of fit do they have on the spindles?

This is a very generous offer you are making, I hope whoever does ask for them enters into the spirit of the offer and will actually use them properly.

I too hope whoever takes them can use them to their full potential.
Unfortunately, I would not be that person.

What a great and generous offer, kudos to you Mike.
I had an idea about making a sine bar that uses a micrometer head to set rather than gauge blocks but never went anywhere with it because I couldn't bring myself to wreck a good micrometer.
It's not something I have been planning to do urgently but if you don't get any more worthy requests I'll put my name down for the 0.001 head to see if my idea is workable.
    Cheers,
    Greg.

I'd love something like that to start off my measuring devices, I'd probably use it for a micro stop for the mill or lathe. I'd have to learn how to read it first though.

I had the same thought as a precision stop. Although I could possibly fit the finer accuracy one into the body of a crappy one I have and make a good mic

I'd be happy to take one of them off your hands to convert to a depth micrometer. I would make several cross-bars of varous sizes and shapes for difficult to measure positions. Something I always wanted to buy but use too infrequently to justify.....
Great offer! Respect to you - whoever you choose as receipients!

    OK guys

the way I read it, is that one should go to Greg (kwijibo99), and the other to (sacc51)?

The 1/10 thou head has a slight issue.
So the goodie goes to Greg.
No need for proof of use.
If you guys don't use them, please consider giving yours to the other.

    PM address please.
Don't worry about postage, my shout.

(The ferrules are not part of the heads; I figure that our machine shop must have made them up as an accessory for heads when used in the navaid from which these came).
