Default Advice on a quick change tool post for a Hercus 9" ( a gift so I cannot check the fit

    Hey everyone!

I'm trying to solve a gift problem for my sister in law. She wants to pick up a QCTP for her hubby. He has a Hercus 9".

I have been googling the centre height and have only found an add stating it to be 115mm. Is this correct?

I looks as though the only one that will fit from Carbtec is the c3.

Anyone have an opinion on this one for a Hercus?

She is pretty much fixed on buying one from hare and forbes or CT as if it's wrong, it's difficult to return if she buys it online.

    Thanks everyone!

A QCTP IMO is only of any use if you can get lots and lots of holders cheap..

The only QCTP I know of that you can get lots and lots of holders cheap is the aloris type..

AXA is the size for the Hercus
Gold, the colour of choice for the discerning person.

Nice one! Thanks RC and pipeclay

Good point on the availability of extra holders at the right price!

I never bothered looking at QCTP before until today....my first bit of advice was not to waste any time on them unless they are an aloris set...I looked at the $1500 price tag and quickly got used to doing without...

The axa ones look pretty darn good at that price! I think they might be too small for my lathe (al960b). I might have a look into it again in the new year though.....
