Remember, this is only temporary until the love of my life manages to free up some folding stuff.
Still have to instal the door and get power to the shed. (not a fan of extension leads).

Hi all
remember this, it was eight months ago.
I finally put doors on it and closed it up. You might say I have finally reached lockup stage.
It seems this 'ice' epidemic is reaching further out and there has been a lot of thefts happening out our way, 30 mins from Ballarat. The police even popped in to do a firearms check it's that bad.
In the spirit of using what's available I made two frames from some SHS laying around and finally saved up enough money to get 3 sheets of corrugated iron.
The missus reckons it looks so good I should get enough iron to do the whole wall.
Is that the sound of funding being freed up .

Hi Phil, nice work on the doors, if I could ask a question, regarding the door hinges, is there anything that can stop one or both from being lifted? The reason I ask is that you commented about thefts around the area. Have you thought about a second hand shed, sometimes they can be gotten at quite a good price. I picked up my 6X4 Metre shed for $300.

It's good that they check that you have firearms to shoot the thieves with.

Thanks Richard, I am real pleased as to how well they turned out. I would even go so far as to say shocked.
It won't stop a crack head but at least the insurance guy has one less thing he can knock me back on.

I will be putting a stop just above the vertical rail with the hinges on it from the inside of the shed this weekend, well actually just inside (but above) the vertical rails. I thought about one just above the top hinge but that would involve nuts and bolts to remove the door should I need to. With a projection just inside the vertical rails all I need to do is open the doors and I can lift them off.
The doors can also be padlocked from inside the shed.
But like I said, if a crack head wants to get in...
I should say that if a crack head needs to be 'kneecapped', he should pop in for a visit . Just jokin'...maybe

Hi Phil,

I would make sure that the screws cannot be removed from the hinges ! Use one way screws or just weld a plate over the screws. Around here thieves just take the screws out of the hinges and lift away the door. One thing that I did on my workshop was to use a reed switch and a siren so if the door was opened without disarming the siren would wake the dead. I've got one on my van as well, though you wouldn't believe the number of times I've forgotten to disarm it.

Those doors look very nice (lucky the light was failing so we can't see any errors )

Or a long M6 coachbolt right through each hinge and post, with nut and washer inside the shed.

Nice work Phil! I agree with you. It's not about making it so secure that nobody can get in, (bloody hell even banks can't manage that!) It's about keeping out 99% of any would be theives and also demonstrating to the insurance Co. that you made "reasonable" effort to secure.

PS I dare say that you door is all that would be required for a bank in Greece.
