    Even bolted to the bench CI vices can be damage prone.

    It was nasty habit of some of the students in winter, to wind up the vice tightly in the last lesson of the day. The first class in the next day were then greeted by a snapped off sliding jaw .These were good quality 100mm records vices and not cheap to replace.

    From that point on the teacher had to check all vices had the jaws loose before the kids walked out of the metalwork class.

    Grahame, that couldn't have been in Mackay - you don't have winter there....
