    Yep frequent flyer points.
As I will need to fly in from the west I was hoping to reduce my travel costs by using FF points but this is not usually possible during school holidays and regular air fares are usually more expensive at that time.

    Default Make a decision.....

Why don't you guys actually do something like the following:

Phil nominates a range of dates he's available. OK he's done that.

Someone (anyone) sets up a spreadsheet or similar with those weekends on it and everyone nominates a max of 2 dates they'd like - preferred and alternate.

Date with max score wins. Anyone who can't make it then, too bad.

If no date has the requisite numbers of people required, abandon the entire exercise until the participants get with the program.

It doesn't have to be this difficult!

Peter has a good idea, i can work the spreadsheet.

Edit: Someone PM'ed me with a better way to collect the info - cheers!

Tell me weekends you prefer / are available and also which weekends you are NOT available for. I realise some people like ueee can do any weekend at all, others have one or two they need to keep free. That way we can nail down two that will suit everyone.

    Weekends are:
    Aug 30th
    Sep 6th
    Sep 13th
    Sep 20th
    Sep 27th
    Oct 4th
    Oct 11th
    Oct 18th

I just checked the weather, that weekend has a historical average of 22 C. And it has 11 hrs 11 min of day light. So not too cold and dark.

Thanks for taking that on board Scott.

G'day Bob. That's half the reason for giving every one 4 months notice. So they can get early bird fares. I just jumped on webjet, for Fri 3rd & Mon 6th Oct Perth - Melb.

Its showing plenty of options at reasonable times for under $300 bucks each way.

    Regards Phil.

August has been added to the spreadsheet, ill amend my previous post.

    No worries!

To BobL: Ive put you down as a yes for the dates you indicated and as a no for all others, including the newly added august date. If you can make august, let me know and ill change it to a yes.

To Ueee / Azzrock / jmebgo: As youve indicated, any date is fine by you, youre down for yes' across the board. Let me know if thats no longer true.

To Bob Ward: Are you available all other weekends other than those you listed in post #40?

To Simonl: You mentioned being interested in this class, but your name isnt on the list and I couldn't see any comments since. Want in?

Simon did the 2012 class. I think he's volunteered to help with the cooking. He would also be our first aid guy.

I didn't put Guzzi John on the list either. I wasn't excluding him. He's more than welcome. But he and RC are getting there heads together up north, so I think he's covered.

    Regards Phil.

I will be learning from Central Queensland's own master scraper but may still put my hand up for the Melbourne session. I'll see how things pan out.

If I can fit a scraping weekend between some Victorian sightseeing it could work out well.

I wasn't going to let the party tricks out of the bag this early. But theres a 50/50 chance the little master* might be down here for it.

    Regards Phil.

*I'm trying to find the least offence version of that, that sounded better then grasshopper
