Bridgeport Series 1 Mechanical feed gearbox
Does anyone have an original Bridgeport mechanical feed gearbox for a series 1 mill. I have just aquired a series 1 Bridgeport with the old style gearbox that looks like a lathe quick change gearbox.
It needs a bit of TLC.
Many thanks

Bridgeport Mechanical feed
I was trying to locate a drawing of the gearbox or some info, found that there was a cotter pin (shear pin) missing, replaced that and away she went but a little noisy. I am only using way oil in gearbox but after pulling off the high / low range side cover plate it has had some water in it at some stage and gears are pitted.
Regards
Garry

Without hearing it, possibly normal, they usually sound like a mechanical catastrophe!

The noise appears to be a bearing rumble or rust particles stuck in a gear, You can feel the rumble through the feed handle and shaft. I will do a bit more cleaning to try and find the problem.
Many thanks for all the help.
