Not that pricey really(if it will do the job).

The utube guy doesn't say what thickness he used but you would pretty much need 3off 1m lengths of 100 x 100 angle. The place I buy from charges
    $27.29(+$3.3 a cut) per m for 6mm
    $35.15(+$3.3 a cut) per m for 8mm
    $42.30(+$3.3 a cut) per m for 10mm
    + a couple of bolts + a gate hinge
Now if you have a scrap dealer about you might be able to get it cheaper.

They certain look like the ones.
He says it will fold 950mm wide. So it would be 950mm+two hinges you need. (I did say "pretty much a meter lol)

This thing is heavily built. It is fabricated but solid - I can throw up a few photos and dimensions if people are interested just so the proportions can be appreciated.

Folders are usually rated in terms of the thickness steel they can fold and the rule of thumb is that you can fold twice the thickness of Al, and half the thickness of stainless as you can the rated 'plain' steel. However, bear in mind that fold material you need it to get to yield, so a high strength steel will take more force than a soft steel. S/S derates a folder because it work hardens.

    Hi Michael,

I Had been meaning to reply to your offer. I certainly would be interested in looking at a few pics of your folder. No rush, anytime you get a chance. I have some real heavy gauge steel 20mm and 40mm thick and now have a means of cutting it. A sheet folder seems like as good a project for it as any!

Girl, I don't wanna know about your mild-mannered alter ego or anything like that." I mean, you tell me you're, uh, super-mega-ultra-lightning babe? That's all right with me. I'm good. I'm good.

i built a sheet metal bender similar to that on youtube total cost was $53 but my building skills suck and i over cut sections so no close up pictures lol

but i can say it bloody worked!!!!!!!! i couldnt be bothered chopping off a nice new sheet to test on the bender so i quickly grabbed some scrap ive been practicing welding on its 1.6mm 5005 aluminium 25cm long and it only took around 2kg's of force to bend the sheet

i over bent the sheet but its scrap anyway, tomorrow ill cut out and bend a nice live bait tank hopefully it works out

one down side is my measuring skills suck i wanted to make my live bait tank 60cm long i now made the bender to small and its max bending with is 47cm that'll have to do lol

well guys my bending is almost done i just need to bend a couple of ends

check out the bends, that guy on youtube is awesome

took around 5-6kg to make the large bends and a little more force for the smaller bends all up the total area bent is 46cm long not bad saves a heck of a lot of welding
