    Default More Helix Clamps

A while back I purchased a pair of clamps on German Ebay. They required modification to suit the 13's 12mm tee slots. http://www.woodworkforums.com/f65/he...0/#post1436572

On Friday I collected another two pairs from the PO and found that heavy handedness is a universal phenomena. The German seller had indicated that there was damage to the tee nuts on the larger, 60 - 135mm pair. Makes me wonder what the tee slots were like. Made a new pair from some 1045.

The clamps were listed on Ebay.de as Treppenspannpratzen, Stufenpratzen should anyone be interested in a sticky beak.

mmmmmmmmmmmmaybe one day. I do look at them every now and then but I always seem to have spent "as much as I think I can get away with" on something else

Looks like you made the top of the T deeper? You dont use coolant do you? I made the misstake of making some tee nuts a close a fit for my tee slots. The tee slots fill up with coolant . Easy to fix though.

Sans coolant at the moment Stu. The pump's there along with a little VFD to power it. Coolant is the issue.

The nut depth is close to the original nut depth, pre the heavy handedness.
