    Default Some of my knives

    Hi,
hope i dont put to much photos.
They are made of different steels, if you have some questions, ask. Some are factory made knife blanks, some are my work etc.
    You will see the difference

I only made 6 my knives for now, and still learning.

Nice work. Love the figured wood in those handles.
    Cheers.

    Very nice work.

Do you grind your own blades and what metal do you use in the blanks.
    Have you hardened them?

Wow! I love the timber combination on the Black Olive Polar. Not too keen on the knife itself... I wouldn't have a use for it personally. (Beyond collecting. )

Now, the nice li'l work knife pictured on the floor(?) boards... do you want my postal address? Is that an olive handle?
I may be weird, but I'm saving up to become eccentric.

    Fantastic work

As some of the woodies have said, that is some beut timber your using for the handles.
Great photography work too, careful or BT may have to step up to something better than a plain white background.
    Cheers,

Not a fan of knives but that is some fantastic work. I just love the way you guys blend metal and wood.

Thanks, glad you like my knives.

The first one, is coolibah burl handle, steel is Niolox, hardened to 59 Hrc. That wood is awesome, if anybody has some for sale, just let me know. I bought this knife scales on Ebay from some guy in Canada.
Second is olive wood handle, 1075 steel, hardened by me, aproxx 55 -57 hrc. It is a old chainsaw guide, which i believe is 1075 but you can never tell.
The one that i am certain is 1075 steel is Stihl duromatic.
Third is bought Karesuando knife blank, cherry burl with turquoise inlay.
And the last is bought polar blank, bog oak stump wood with olive wood.

i dont have a grinder for now, thees two knives that i made is done on small hobby grinder. and lots of hours of sanding...

    cheers

    HI,

I've never made a knife but it looks good and your results are outstanding. Any chance you could put up a photo essay on your next project? Sure plenty of blokes would be interested.

    Cheers Ben.
