It has the vice on it, which is good .

I have already downloaded the parts book from the yahoo ATLAS shaper group . Being a common machine, hopefully there will be plenty of help and information around .

I think 'welder' from this forum has also got one ?

Your lucky I would love an original vice but they are hard to find.I also have a fair bit of info on Atlas shaper I will put it on the traveling sticks when it does the rounds again.

PS your post has spurred me on to finish my Atlas shaper.

    Default Its here

I picked up the little shaper yesterday..

It has 'ACORN TOOLS' cast into the side cover .

Seems to be in good condition . It has a 1/3 hp motor .Comes with original stand .

I gave it a liberal oiling , won't be trying it out until things are organised better .

    Hi Mike,

I have a book that says that the Acorn Shaper was the English made version of the Atlas. I reckon if you look on lathes.com.uk they might have more info. I'll try and dig up the book and copy the relevant part.
Some photo's would be good too.

    Cheers Ben
