Thread: Lathe repairs

Major work today the back gears have been stripped off our 3 1/2" center lathe so the spindle has to come out. We have a spare back-gear set but there is still one other gear damaged hopeful that a Hercus one will fit fingers crossed.
The lathe has no builders name but seems to have a of of Hercus bits

If its part of the drive train it should be either the Bull gear or the rear gear attached to the cone pully.I think there is a person selling replacement ring gears for the hercus on ebay at the moment,you just machine your old one off and put the replacement on.
