I got a new to me Turret Mill today for just over $6K. It's a Hafco BM-20E. It came with a 2 axis dro, 6" Vice, Collet chuck and collets, 75mm Face mill and a Boring and facing head. 20210326_173001_resized.jpg20210326_131706_resized.jpg I'll post some better pictures once I get it in position and set up.

Thats a funny picture that made me look twice.
It's lifted off the ground but the straps don't look tight, lol

Yes the picture is a bit funny. There was a bit of drama with the Mill when it arrived. The Mill was sitting on a Pallet which was a pretty good pallet, but the pallet had broken and the mill was leaning forward. It was fortunate that the Freight company who delivered it had a strap over the mill near the lifting ring which stopped the mill from falling over. We intended to lift with the lifting sling, but ended up lifting with the chain that we used to stabilize the mill whilst we slid the ram back and loosened the ratchet strap. A piece of form ply on the pallet and the pallet probably would've been ok.
The boring and facing head is nice and I'm looking forward to trying it out, I've only used a boring head before so a bit to learn.

Also want to add the mill and looks great and looks virtually knew.

I was torn between the BM and the HM52 when I bought mine new as there wasn't much between them price wise back then.
I love the versatility of the HM with the horizontal and swivel table, but I'd like the bit more mass of the BM.
I'd love to use one to compare it to mine one day.

The Mill is dated 10/2006 but yes it does look good considering how grubby it looked in the pictures that ESP sent me before it was cleaned. Apart from a few marks on the table (no drill holes or cut marks thankfully) some paint chips the only things I found is the front Y-Axis cover is damaged and the quill feed forward/reverse/neutral rod is a bit bent there's nothing to complain about. I bought it sight unseen apart from a video, some pictures, having a friend check it out and the the description of Excellent on ESP webpage. I nearly bought a HM50 myself when they came out years ago, but held off at the time as they didn't have any on display in Dandenong at the time. I have been wanting a Bridgeport style mill for years, because of the versality of them and yes the mass for the extra rigidity. I have a bit to learn as this mill is a bit different to the Toptech DM-45 and Herless SM-1 Mills that I have, but I gave YouTube a workout last week so I have learnt a bit about the functions/features.
I forgot to add that the Mill is actually much better than I expected.

    Default Odd freebies

Old school acquaintance is selling up his business, offered me some left over junk from the "tool room" (actually a dirty corner with a lathe, mill and surface grinder).

    Some nice trinkets...

A little Starret 1" mic that cleaned up OK:
Attachment 397265Attachment 397266 and some scrap brass.

A Whitworth tap+die set from a German Manufacturer I have never heard of:

Unfinished machinist clamps, home made parting blades:

The latter is particularly impressive. One is forged from a 3/8" square file!

Large spindle, maybe 20mm diameter. Felt very solid.

There's quite a lot of used hobs on ebay with plenty of life left (also lots that are ground back so far they're not useable any more, just follow the pics). Some of the stuff out of India is also not bad
