    Default Post not showing

Anyone else had this, - I got the following e-mail notification of a new posting in the Scraping Class in Melbourne thread, but when I click on the link the last posting is one I made myself a couple of days ago, and there is no sign of this new post that I have been notified about. Some sort of site issue perhaps.

Rob, check the date of the email. The post referred to by RC was on 8.7, and shows on page 1 for me. Which is probably why you can't see it. The last post is yours, on 20.7. Could be the notification doover had a hiccup.

Thanks Bryan, I did have a quick look for earlier posts, as it looked vaguely familiar, but I obviously didn't look hard enough. The e-mail though, has todays date, it's odd, probably just some electron clouds buzzing where they shouldn't aughta!!

I cant find .RC.'s post(although I do remember seeing it) only BT's post that RC quoted. Maybe RC edited his post? or maybe I'm going blind as well?

Emails can go missing for a while but 2 weeks would have to be close to a record.
Do you know if bigpoind uses trendmicro? optus does and its a PITA.

I can't see it now either. Maybe I dreamed it earlier or maybe someone's messing with us.

Is this the post by .RC. you guys are looking for? (post #14)

    http://www.woodworkforums.com/f65/sc...0/#post1344570

It shows .RC.'s text as per above email, but not the part quoted, perhaps that was edited out at some stage by the OP?

There was a post on page 5 by .RC., posted at 10:46 today, but he deleted it, but the deleted text does not match the above email.

Maybe .RC. can shed further light on this?

    Default The plot thickens.

This is getting weirder and weirder. To the best of my knowledge, whenever I have had an e-mail notification of a new post to a thread, it has contained the text of that new posting word for word. Today I have had 2 notifications, which had a quite different content which had been considerably abridged. I'm not sure what is going on, perhaps I'm mistaken and the notifications have always been abridged if over a certain length, but I have not noticed this before. Anyone else seen this before? Here are the two notifications, - they have the links to this forum to which they refer.

    Rob.

Ok Gents, we have got a fairly accurate price, but it may vary slightly either way depending on numbers...

It will be $300/person for the weekend class depending on total numbers..

This includes meals supplied during the class (morning tea, lunch) and also consumable items like ink, paper towels, cleaning liquids..

We should have enough ink left over for you to take some home, so that is included in the price..

*If you need a workpiece to scrape and take home that will be extra..* We can supply a piece of cast iron to make some 50, 100, 150 blocks out of, but we would have to know how many people need this before we work out the cost of that (appropriate sized cast bar in Au is hard to find).... We can also supply a scraper should the need arise.. Cost for a sandvik scraper is $90.. this includes one carbide piece. One of us should be able to supply home made hand scrapers for around the $50 mark (or maybe less), or loan one for the day...(I plan on making a tube type)

Once a date is determined a deposit will be required to reserve your spot... The date has not yet been determined, but could be anywhere from mid September to late November (earlier may be better then later)... We expect the final date will most likely clash with someone, so please let us know...

We also need to know if interstate/out of town participants would be coming in the Friday or Saturday morning... This will affect the starting time...

This class if for basic handscraping, we will be scraping flat and square, so if you are bringing something to scrape, please no complex shapes like a dovetail/V way..

Also helpful things to bring will be a felt tipped pen (nikko, sharpie, etc) and if you are scraping the cast iron blocks a micrometer (25-50mm).. We will post more along the lines of things that not essential but handy to bring closer to the day.

Joe would like to know what weekends you have and have not available.. And again also if you need a workpiece (cast iron bar) Please advise him via email or PM..

Also if you wish to bring a flat workpiece of your own, please tell us what it is so it can be approved.... The reason for this is so we can work out how it will be held for scraping.... With 16 people we will not have enough vices if we all bring a workpiece that has to be held in a vice...

There is probably something I have forgotten but we can sort that out in the coming weeks...

That probably explains it Bryan, and I just realised that the abridged bit in the second example is in the post on the Melbourne Scraping Class thread, NOT in the notification as I stated earlier. Perhaps RC has also edited his post.
Hi Stuart, sorry forgot to mention earlier that I have no knowledge whatsoever of trend micro, so am unable to comment further on that. Cheers,
    Rob
