Recent Engineering exhibition Melbourne 2011
Anyone like to report on the exhibition? I was not able to attend, so would like to hear of the latest innovations coming our way.
Were CTC Tools represented, that company will go a long way, in my opinion.

Ken, I attended the last day of the show. There was an entire Chinese section that I avoided (along with almost everyone else it seemed). There were the usual turret presses, plasma, welding and waterjet vendors. Machine tools of the traditional variety were thin on the ground-I think Asset Machinery was the only vendor showing them.
The coolest thing that I saw was the rapid prototyping 3D printers. The Deckel/Maho/Gildmeister display was good, and crowded. It looked like they were selling some of their big dollar VMC machines. Mazak too, as well as Haas and Okuma.
Mike G and I stopped to chat with the fellow from the Australian Government Metrology Labs. Interesting to say the least.
No real revelations in three hours,, but longer arms from lugging all the heavy catalogues that I collected.
