Trouble attaching a drawing
I'm trying to post a new thread with an attached drawing. I've done this many times before, but this time, something is going wrong.
I go through the usual steps, manage attachments etc, etc, but and when it comes time to preview the post and look at the drawing, it points to the folder listing in my computer, not the drawing.
The pdf drawing is definately there, so that's not the problem.
Any clues?

Stustoys,
It's only tiny, 32KB.
Perhaps if another member could put in a dummy post with pdf drawing attached, and it works, then I'll know there is something wrong with my technique.

32Kb is pretty small for a pdf isnt it?
You arent pointing to a shortcut to the pdf?
You could email it to me and I could try attaching it to your thread(once you make it)

This is weird, when I try to open Bigshed's post, I get the same result. A dialogue box opens with the file name, and asks where I want to save the file.
The problem seems to be at my end.
I will tack my post onto this thread, and see what happens.

This is the post I had trouble with
My favorite daughter wants me to draw up an outdoor setting, something that will outlast me.
I intend using 38x38x1.6 stainless steel for the frame, and 85x20 Jarrah for the slats. 85x20 was a size given to be my daughter, is this a standard size?
What's the best way of attaching the slats?
My thoughts are drill through the frame and screw up into the slats. I can see this method may crush the tube.
Method 2 is to have some s/s cleats cut and welded to the frame. Fix as above.
Method 3, use adhesive, if there is an adhesive that would last.
Your comments will be appreciated. Please report if you have trouble opening the drawing.

Nice drawing (:<if your head is on its side like this
I'd drill a hole the size of the screwheads in one side of the tube and a hole the size of the screw in the other. Can't crush the tube then. You might need to rethink where the legs attach.

I use Firefox, under Tools - Options you should have a setting for Adobe Acrobat (pdf) files and you can select different options.
Yours is probably set to Always Download, mine is set to Always Ask, so I can decide whether just to look at the file or download it

Hi Ken,
How does some stainless steel angle sections tacked to the box sections sound?
25 x 25 x 3 should be rigid enough.
Drill and countersink them and Bob's ya uncle.

Hi BS,
I'm using Windows XP explorer. Precisely what comes up is this:
A dialogue box. At the top it says Enter name of file to save to
In the centre is a list of files
At the bottom is File name, then below that is Save as file type.
Down the left side is:
My Recent Documents
Desktop
My Documents
My Computer
My Network Places
I'm scratching my head.

Firstly, Bigshed, you were on the money, problem fixed.
Stustoys, that's a great idea drilling two size holes,
Hi GC, your idea is worthy of merit also, but adds more material and cost.
One last question, when double clicking on the attached drawing, is there a way of automatically opening the drawing without having to respond to yet another dialogue box.
Thanks fellas,
Ken
