Default Source of Mitutoyo Verniers Melbourne or Online

I need to pick up a good set of Verniers and I have settled on the Mitutoyo Verniers 160-127, I will be in Melbourne over the holidays, and I need recommendation for a good Engineering Supplies Store in Melbourne. Or if any one can recommend and online source for Mitutoyo Verniers, it would be appreciated.

    Hi Helmut,

    Have you tried M.T.I. Qualos

    Here are the contact details...

    55 Northern Rd
    West Heidelberg
    VIC 3081
    Phone: (03) 9450 1900
    Fax: (03) 9458 3217
    Email: [email protected]

I looked at the model 160-127 you wanted, but not on their website, the one I could find (which I think is equivalent) is the 534-105 is it the same?

    M.T.I. Qualos

I suspect you might not get much change from $300-$400

If (you want to go down market and lower yourself to using a DIGITAL vernier ) I can recommend the Insize, and also the Anyi

    INSIZE-MEASURING TOOLS
calipers - digital calipers manufacturer, digital calipers factory, digital calipers supplier, china digital calipers - Anyi Instrument Co.,Ltd

I have a bucket load of cheap digital calipers, (just got another free one today from VXB bearings!) but I always reach for the Anyi.

    Regards
    Ray

Although not in their current cat. TotalTools and AllTools have had them in the past.
My two local Total Tools both have some Mitutoyo Verniers .
I'll check the prices on my next visit. Not cheap but I love mine.
    All the best

    Hi Matthew,
I inquired to a company over in china that was on Alibaba.com and they where very responsive, but said to send an email about the things I was interested in and they would give me a prices.
Not sure if it's any help but I could post it up if you want, it's on my other computer.

    Warning
To anybody looking for Mitutoyo gear, be careful about buying overseas as their is a lot of fakes getting around. Mitutoyo have the tell tale signs on their web site.

I bought a test indicator a few years ago off onlinetoolseller on ebay and it was a Mitutoyo fake. I only expected it to be a cheap Chinese one but it had the Mitutoyo name on it. I have seen people selling these second hand on ebay claiming they where Mitutoyo.

    Hi Matt
I just found it but it is in a PDF attached to the email.
It was from orientools and I found them on ebay, I think it was the same seller where Stuart bought his DRO.
    Their email is
    Eva Chen
    E-mail Address(es):
    [email protected]

If you send me your email I will send you the attached catalog, or you can just request one from them, it's up to you, no problem to me.

Just a note, about were I ended up sourcing the tools I was after. I found bolt.com.au. They have a wide range and they had everything I wanted in stock. Their prices are comparable.

I ended up order a 150, 300, and 1000 mm Toledo Rulers from them as well as the Mitutoyo verniers. The postage cost $11 and took five days.

I then ordered a metric & imperial half sets of Cobolt HSS drill bits, plus a cutting fluid, again postage was $11 and it took 3 days to deliver.

So from my experience they seem a good source.
