Default WOHLHAUPTER Not a UPA take 2

There was a post in 2011 about a UK4 boring head and how Wohlhaupter stated it was too complicated for modern machinist which sounds like a bit of a challenge. I had the head but no tooling which made it a bit hard. I now have the main tooling. Before I start pushing buttons and doing something I shouldn't has anyone ever used or heard how to use these over complicated things. If not when I get my mill working I'll just have to hook it up and give it a spin.

For info the swing arm looks like a tool height setter with a ground surface in either direction. Capable of being run in both directions?

    Any insights would be appreciated.

No idea how they operate although I have seen one short video besides this one of the pop a knob move a setting and hold the rin to turn it from a boring cutter to a facing cutter.

This guy has the courage to completely disassemble then reassemble one - more complex than a Swiss watch, magnificent engineering

That's quite a treasure you have there.

I found the one I had watched previously, I realise it's a different one to you, however it may be instructive nonetheless

This one is a brilliant way to set boring heads if you have the few tools needed or can improvise with the gauge block ears somehow - very, very accurate

You're right about the Swiss watch and the UK4 has twice as many parts
