Chinese Tools - free shipping and Escrow
A lot of people on this Forum will be aware of my penchant for purchasing gear from overseas. I have been searching for a supplier of Indexable Mill Cutters - Face, End, Rounding, Roughing, etc. While I was searching Alibaba Express for these tools I came upon this manufacturer/distributor - Yinsheng Machinery Tool Co., Ltd. Small Orders Online Store.
They offer free shipping via Hong Kong post on lots of items, but the best thing is that payment is held in escrow until you confirm the goods have arrived. The procedure is explained on the AliExpress website.
I havent puchased any gear from here yet - but prices look pretty good - especially with the free freight. Some of the standouts are listed below - all with free shipping!
100x50 PARALLEL BLOCKS BLOCK PAIR MAGNETIC CHUCK 0.005 US$34.97
External Internal Radius Gauge R1-6.5MM Measure Tool US$9.91
New 3PCS 3MM x10MM Shank HSS Double Ended Centre Drill US$13.32
New 1PC 18MM-6 HSS T-Slot cutter shank End mills cutter US$13.00
Hydrulic Magnetic base & 0-40-0 dial testing indicator (0.01mm) US$34.80

Brand New HSS Twist Drill Bit Dia :32mm , Shank:1/2 US$9.70

Brand New Set ER25 Collet Range 2-16mm (0.013mm accuracy) US$51.44
I think a test order might be coming on!

Going by the prices, shipping has been factored into the price...

Some of his prices are quite good, certainly better than some Ebay prices.
Have been looking for a set of ER32 collets, interesting to see he has several sets listed but all are different prices, all cheaper than on Ebay though. Might give him a go, some of his other stuff isn't so competitive though.
Edit:
No free shipping/postage on ER32 collet sets, cheapest set is $US39 + $US40 shipping, not much cheaper than Ebay etc. He ships via DHL

Hi Big shed,
CTC is $45 and $45 postage and you know what your getting as in quality. From what I have read on all different forums everyone has been happy with them.
I have always thought I paid too much for my NT30 ER32 collet set ($300) off an ebay seller before CTC etc came along. Until the other day, I always thought they were from China until I noticed (Taiwan) printed on them and the boring head I bought from him. All this time I have thought how accurate these Chinese collets were.

Yes Dave, at those sort of prices I'll stick to either onlineseller or CTCseller, I have 2 sets of ER25 collets from them (not sure which one, have bought quite a bit from both, they're the same anyway).
Want to upsize to the ER32 as I am doing a fair bit of 19mm SS atm and the ER25 only goes to 16mm. The 9x20 will handle up to 20mm through the head stock spindle.
Will sell off one set of ER25 once that acquisition is complete.

I am in the same boat only I have ER32's and want to step up to ER40's so I can run 25mm and 1 inch end mills.
Do you know of anyone selling Taiwanese ER 40 collets and chucks reasonably cheap? Other wise I think I will go with CTC and get both metric and imperial sets.
Has anybody noticed how dear the collet chucks are from him compared to other things. There is more metal, machining and grinding in a NT30 to MT3 and a MT3 to ER40 collet chuck than a NT30 to ER40 collet chuck but it is cheaper to buy the two than the one, not that I would but it's just an example.
I am thinking of sending him a email, but I am not sure as if I bring it to his attention he might put the prices up of the others.
Dave
Edit
It is the same thing with the ER32 chucks

Hi RC,
I have been buying end mills from the US that are imperial.
I know their advertised as that, but have you tried putting a 3/8 in a 10mm etc collet. The strain the collet goes through compressing that much will make them fail early. So instead of buying collets one by one as they break latter I am going to buy the 2 sets to over come this.

Have you had a collet fail?
The other point is, are the imperial collet sets actually imperial? I have ER40 collets here marked with imperial dimensions, but they are still metric sizes...

No I haven't had a collet fail because I rarely use the imperial end mills in the metric collets because of it. But given the amount of flex they go under I don't think it would take too long for the metal to start to have fatigue then crack.
I know what you mean about them naming collets imperial when they are really metric ones, but CTC states on his site the collets he sells are real imperial collets.
