    Default ER40 collets just arrived

Just got the ER 40 collet set that i ordered from epay USA. It was picked up from the seller in China at 18.50 wed 26 May, first delivery attempt to my house in Canberra was at 11.19am friday 28 May....only two days later! Unfortunately the clowns didnt leave a 'we missed you slip' and a week lapsed before I chased it up. Ended up getting them redirected to work who freaked out as the package was metallic, heavy, wrapped in brown paper and from China. I had to go into the secure room to open it up.

Anyway, I have them now...they are very slick. The same company (online seller) has a presence in most of the epay sites around the world. However (and quite bizarely) the price differs siginificantly depending on which site you buy from. I bought mine from epay USA becuase they were $100 cheaper there than her in Oz. (I got these delivered for 140AU vs 240AU which they currently are on epay Oz). I notice now they are 160AU on the us site, but can be had for about 145AU on epay UK. So if anyone else is interested in these collets, shop around and youll save yourself a lot of money.

    for $55 delivered (2008)

I still can't work out why postage from china is cheaper than postage from Australia

Yeah I was going to go with them but doing it this way worked out about $30 cheaper.

Im quite surprised at the cost of ER40s vs Er32a, the 40s are basically double. If I didnt have a stack of tooling with 1 inch shanks I would have gone the 32s for sure.

Supplier was "onlineseller68". They are based in china, but advertise on e-bay Australia, USA, UK, Germany and possibly more. The price for the exact same product differs on each of the various auction sites, so shop around.

They dont seem to come up when you search for them under the stores, but youll find them searching for "ER40".
