Thread: Someone tried to hack my account ?

I just thought I'd mention I got an email from the forum today. It seems at 6:30 am someone tried several times to log into my account.

If there are any posts with my name on them today earlier than this one they aren't from me.

It possible it was an honest mistake or some quirk of technology, but I rather suspect it might have been hackers possibly trying to spam the forum, or some such thing.

Anyone else experienced something similar ?

G'day Damian - Happens from time to time. Hackers pick someone at random and have a go. Only get 3 goes then their bounced. Same as if you forget your password.

Sometimes it's a mistake but often it's a hacker. Attacks like this go on all the time with everything from email and web sites almost anything you need permission to get into on the web.

It's all good, I just wanted to raise it in case many people had been hit, or if they got in and posted something even more offensive than the stuff I normally post
