    Default Trend Internet Security Issues

I have upgraded to Trend Internet Security Pro and I am having all sorts of grief on this site. The forum will load one it two tries and in threads I have the same problem. If I try to reply to a thread then one in three times it is lost.
I have set www.woodworkforums/* as a trusted site and still no change.
Am I missing something or are there problems with the forum - I know there are problems with the keyboard operator but not much can be done about that.
I am not having any issues with other sites or forums.
    Any help will be appreciated.
    Cheers,
    Rod

    Shouldn't that be: www.woodworkforums.com/*

Don't forget the forum uses 2 other web addresses as well, so when you reply to a post, it may well be on one of the other 2, so check you address bar.

Does Trend have a page listing blocked sites? A log that you can check?

From memory, for these forums there are three addresses that you'll need to set as trusted:

    www.woodworkforums.ubeaut.com.au
    www.woodworkforums.com.au
    www.woodworkforums.com

Well... I think the above are right. Check your log if you can!

I don't see why this would cause any of your posts to go missing though... as if you're logged in through one of these addresses your posts go in under the same address. The only problem I know is if you access a link that uses one of the other two URLs then you'll be asked to log in "again." (Which confuses some people.)

Made sure I had the address correct and added the extra ones. Also checked my log and there were no new addresses.
I thought it had fixed it but five minutes of reading posts and the same problem came back. If I exit Trend as i am doing now it works OK so I must be missing something.
    Thanks for your suggestions.
    Cheers,
    Rod

I gave Trend the flick because of continued problems. I suggest you use their online help and get them to talk you through it. Try and avoid a reboot if at all possible or you will have to go through the entire fault find again if it doesn't work.

Could it be flushing the session cookies?

Hmmm... Fred said the same as my first post, but 6 min earlier. Yet when I replied it wasn't there, (else I wouldnae bothered) and I double-checked after posting too! I wonder what gives there?

I was using Trend Micro PC-cillin internet security and it caused my PC to virtually grind to a halt, huge delays on start-up. That was on an XP machine. And also on a new XP machine, same thing. It wouldn't even install on my daughter's Vista laptop, caused it to hang indefinitely.

I just gave up on it and used another product.

A year later they're still spamming me , trying to get me to pay for another year. They're dreamin'.

Have used a few anti-virus etc programs, Symantec, AVG, Norton. Was given a licenced version of blink personal (eEye digital security), found it better than all the above, very strong firewall.

Agreed, Avast is an absolutely fantastic product for the home user, and the price is unbeatable!
Give it a try, you too may never pay for an anti-virus again!
    Cheers.

I have used Trend for over 3 years and each new release seems to have more and more problems. So this year when my subscription was up I installed AVG. Doesn't slow the computer up like Trend did and doesn't have the firewall issues that Trend has. So glad I got rid of Trend and got AVG.
